Has anybody got a source for a egr cleaning kit and a egr cooler filter kit as well?? The truck is runing now after a new air filter and air filter housing cleaning and all connections sprayed with senor cleaner and the batterys both were load tested and both had coroaded terminals that were cleaned by me personally so that low voltage reading has vanhised but am wondering now if the egr will stick next time it goes into regen, i need to clean it and spray it down and the egr cooler filter as well just to get used to this problem. This truck is a 6 speed manual 07 with 6. 7 and 112k miles on it and has been in the shop several several time and has been reflashed, had the egr valve replaced once, the egr cooler filer replaced at 69k something and was doing fine until it seemed to lose power and cel came on, it acts like the dpf is clogged to me. We drove it home from a shop and it was running great but still has cel we can not erase with the autozone scanner. Anybody got any ideas how to check to see if the dpf is clogged or the o2 senor is faulty?? I am thinking first time the truck goes back into regen the egr might stick again and leave us stranded. No dealer around here anymore so i am going to get some help and clean out the egr and replace the egr cooler filter as well just to make sure. The dpf was $2200 dollars, the egr cleaning is $600 and not including labor on the dpf either, the egr valve was $600 when we checked for price and availabitly at Brown Dodge in Devine Texas where truck was purcased. If i can get it running enuff to take to dealer 4 hour drive can hey check the dpf to see if it is cracked or plugged and how much will that cost??



We checked a Anothys Plantet Pickup and a Smarty or Hand S delete kit with controller and all new exhaust is around $2500, just the dpf is $2200 plus labor, add in a new egr valve $600, lablor, egr filter kit plus labor, and still the sorry performing system on your truck to crash again at any time it looks like i am going to remove all of this junk and replace it with controller and complete egr delte kit and all new exhaust and have a good truck again, something this truck has not been in a long long time. Is there a newer code for the 1th year 6. 7 out again?? This truck was refleashed 4 times and is susposed to have latest one in it and has the code on the rad suport with the sticker? I wish i could just get it fixed stock and not go bankrupt trying to get it runninglol I am driving the old 2001 with edge attitude, air filter, exhaust upgrade and its so much a better truck except for the exaust brakelol
 
I am wondering the same. I am looking at the H&S kits too.

Mine is a 07 with 40k miles, and nothing but problems for the past 10k or so. I am ready to delete.
 
Just got off the phone with Genos, no product for 6. 7!!!! what is crazy with the egr gasket kit is it is cheaper to buy a egr delete kit just to get the way way to high gaskets out of it and just use carb cleaner to clean the egr valve and have the block off plates left over, omg price the egr gasket cleaning kit from Dodge?? Price it from Dodge and be ready to get shafted!!!! I found a controller by Smarty with the egr kit block off etc etc $650. All i got to do now is figure who in San Antonio is there dealer and who can install.
 
I got a egr gasket set and the Fleetguard filter that goes under the valve cover from Bluebonnet Dodge in New Braufels today. Will be puling the egr valve apart to clean it and replace the filter and see if i can get it working again. Seems like if the egr is cleaned they have been replacing the filter at the same time and then driving the truck to try to get it to go into regen to avoid taking it in to a dealer and paying for the fix. Two shop foreman told me to just clean the egr valve first and replace the filter and drive the truck and if it will go into regen on its own. I got a link to a video utube of the egr remove and clean and filter replacement and will try to get the truck going again. Soon as it is roadable and is not acting up I will order the smarty with delte kit and complete exhaust kit from turbo back and forget this insanity of not knowing when the egr valve will stick and go into limp mode. I wish the agravation factor was not so high and i could stand to just lemon law this truck and move on with a gas truck and forget the 6. 7 lemon set up, no wonder they have 5 Smartys and delete kits in stock at Anothys Plantet Pickup in San Antoniolol KISS and enjoy the truck, dont reward a flawed sytem that will leave you on the of the road at any time. I shudder to think what i would have spent at a dealership replacing the egr, the dpf, the ccv filter and towing it up and back 200 miles, i will be so happy when i get this truck going the right way. I am keeping my old setup that about burned down my ranch at 50k just in case i ever have to have to pass inspecton. Figure it out, egr valve $600 plus labor, dpf $2200 plus labor, filter install plus labor??? and towing and reflashing or creating a regen at the dealer and all of the down time just to have it happen again at anytime and strand me again on the side of the road??? The smarty will delete kit and all new exhasust is thousands cheaper and a better mpg truck with no more guess what the egr is stuck again and in limp mode, there outta be a law but oh well!!! Well keep posted on progress, crazy that a legless man can figure this out but a tech a dodge dealer cant or wontlol thanks for the rant!!!!
 
I priced the Smarty Jr. and delete pipe for $750 at The power shop. You only need the delete pipe from the turbo to the end of the dpf, replacing the rest would be a waste unless your going up to a 5". I take that back you could replace the pipe behind the cat to just behind the dpf and save a little more money. Hope this helps.
 
Pulled the egr valve and filter and soaked them in a homemade solution, had to flush it out 5 times, water soap was black black and dirty dirty, it was never serviced as claimed by the dealer, i looked at the screws and they were never removed, looks like to me dealer was scamming Dodge to get money for service that they did not perform but billed for, i am convinced they also did not remove and replace the dpf as well. prob they knew how to induce a regen to clean up the egr and dpf and then collect for a warranty claim, i could not beleive how simple and quick it was to pull egr and filter, it tokk forever to clean and try to find parts to servie it. Its still soaking in hot water and a solution after several worn out brushes and bottle cleaners and toothbrushes, 5 minutes to pull it but hours and hours to clean it, it was very dirty, can not beleive this carbon cleaing almost cost me several thousands, will be bolting it back together in th emorning and see what happens.
 
All i can say is this truck egr system is the pits, only thing worses about it is the dealer suport for it, its like nobody can tell you whats wrong and how to fix it so we pulled it ourselves and now know what it takes to get it going the right way.
 
the dodge dealership in san angelo did the same to me as dodge no longer pays for the service as of nov
 
Just talked to a customer last week who supplies fuel to a mining company in Indiana. The fuel is required to have a minimum Cetane number of 50. The mining company was using a natural 50 Cetane straight run fuel refined in Indiana. The mining company was complaining about there dpf's clogging. My customer got the contract by upgrading his fuel to a 50+ cetane using our TDR-S additive. Since changing fuel the mining company has not had the issue. Fuel quality is everything, you might want to change the fuel you use or upgrade the fuel using a good additive.



Where do we pick up some of this additive ?
 
I got the 5 inch exhsut installed and its fine and no complaints, I ordered and got a Smarty 67 ME and a HS egr delete kit, the kit was short alumium plug for the crossover pipe so waiting on it to delete the egr and install the Smarty and see what hppens. The truck dipstick was coated in carbon!!! I had just got the oil changed within 500 miles of this truck going down from see dealer pdf full message and went into limp mode. Am changing the oil n filter today and not driving it anymore, i put about 18 miles on it trying to get home, if i had any idea of what was in the engine and pdf i would have called a wrecker, dont drive your truck if u get that pdf plugged see dealer messages. Thanks to god i have the delete kit on the way and the 5 inch exhasut installed, cant wait to flash away the cel messages and see how it does with the new turbo back 5 inch exhaust, the egr delete and the smarty67 me set on something a little higher thn stock... ... . What a screwed up pff, barely hit it with power washer and it was like solid ground up coal coming out of the pdf when i had it on the ground..... I dont think it was replaced as written up the last time it caught on fire at the ranch when in warranty... . what a scam... .
 
I would like to know how well it works for you. I was looking at the same setup but with the H&S minimaxx. Justing waiting on some more money.
 
I finally got it all together, installed the egr delete, the Smarty 67me and the 5 inch exhaust with the flopro muffler. It takes a lot of reading between the lines with some of the exhaust and egr delete instruction but i did it with no legs in the backyard. All i can say is we have the Smarty set a 30 hp almost stock, the muffler and 5 inch exhaust turbo back is fine and not to lound, actualy quiet, the plugs got here and we still need to install them and retape everything again and tiewrap the old stuff out of the way, I saved everything just in case. The only regret i have is not doing this when the pdf plugged up and smoked us back at 35,000 miles. The truck runs great and even with the $1200 total for Smarty, 5 inch exhaust turbo back, hs delete kit and labor from neighbor kid it was a bargin. If i had taken it back to dodge the parts and labor was looking at around $3000 to $5000 and wondering when it would strand me again or try to overheat and burn up the sea of grass down at the ranch. The truck runs like it was new again and reminds me a lot of my 2001 5. 9 with the edge, big pipe, aftermarket air cleaner, air dog. I did find out that the new 2 nd clutch i bought from Dodge, the stock dual mass junky setup can be smoked at the higher hp settings with the smarty. I will be looking at swaping out the dual mass weakling to the Southbend conversion asap, I have one in the 2001 3500 4x4 dually 5 speed and its been great, 3 years just like new. Who has installed a 6. 7 SouthBend conversion HD clutch and what model did you use and how do you like it?? I think I will get the HD master clutch& slave cyclinder kit for the 2007 when i install it, I stil have the 2001 with the stock clutch cylinder and its hard to keep the pedal down in heavy traffic. Delete it and forget it and enjoy the truck is my advice if you have been on the fence liike i was. I learned more than the 3 dodge dealers i tried to get the truck fixed at now finally, no wonder nobody can fix the stock egr system, its fatally flawed and Dodge does not care as long as truck makes it to the 100k mile warranty, mine went belly up at 114,00 for the record.
