What a day. Everything I touched broke
Started out with a simple install of my new EGR brake hoses (which are way cool, by the way) and ended up 7 hours later with new calipers, pads, and the brake line that crosses over in the front (the one with 8 thousand bends in it
I had the hoses installed in about an hour, went to bleed the system, bleeder froze up in caliper, lots of PB blaster, a little heat, a little persuasion, and SNAP there goes bleeder #1. OK walk away and pick up the wrench out of the yard that I threw, lets try the other side. SNAP
Walk across to the neighbor's auto electric shop, he calls parts store, in 20 minutes I have new calipers and pads delivered to my garage
Hook everything up, start bleeding, and I have a leak on the drivers side line. Take apart try again... ... . after 3 tries, I cut the line, re-flare and try again... . LEAK. Across the road again, 20 minutes go by new brake line in my hands. Finally after working 11-7 shift, then 7 more hours on the truck, I'm done.
Sorry for the long post, had to vent.
By the way, EGR's brake hoses are awesome. Great look and very well made. (that was the reason for the post in the first place):-laf
