If I read the diesel supplement right it sounds like the cleaning of the EGR cooler and valve required in the 67,500 miles of 54 months schedule is covered by the manufacturer for vehicle registered in California. Is it really the case? Can I just call up and schedule the EGR cleaning only and the dealer will do it at no charge to me?

I do the rest of the maintenance myself and I was going the skip the EGR, but if they pay for it... Well, I let them polish it too...

Bought the vehicle used so I'm not the original owner if that makes any difference

I found this in the 2011 Ram Diesel Supplement for 67,500 miles :

**The EGR Cooler maintenance will be covered by themanufacturer only at this maintenance interval, for vehiclesin California, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts,New Mexico, New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Oregon, and Rhode Island.

I called local dealership and tech said it's not covered in Emissions Warranty and that this service would be $1200 without CCV , service mgr had mentioned a year earlier that he would clean egr etc for a discount if brought in before 70 k miles.
I'll be talking to SM this week keep .

If the warranty book says it is covered, it is. You need to be close to the 67500 for them to get paid.
