Has anyone tried these? They're $90 plus shipping which seems high for adjusters, but if they actually work like they're supposed to, I'd be willing to pay the money. If they're just OEM repackaged, then no way. I hate the rear brakes on my '96. I've already upgraded the wheel cylinders and they're still only so so at best. I'm not willing to spend the $ for the disc brake kit and put up with the lack of emergency brake. Any advice or is this as good as it gets?

You might try searching for the brake proportioning valve arm adjustment or eliminate the sucker as I did with the D/C bypass hose per TSB#? Some guys have stuffed 1st gen 3" shoes in there. I took a hit on the emergency brake but enjoy much better stopping with the rear disc conversion. I think if I did it again I'd just chuck the truck and buy a 3rd gen. It's a shame D/C sold these trucks with insufficient stock brakes until 2001. 5 models came out.

if the EGR adjusters work anything like there rear disk conversion then they will probably work worse then the stock ones they way to fix the rear breaks is chunk your axle and get a newer one from and 01. 5 or newer truck i got my 02 dana 80 posi with disk and 60k for $1100 shipped

Did the whole EGR front and rears w/ their hardware kits. The brakes do self-adjust like they should. Since having them I haven't had to do a manual adjustment. For a 2nd gen I have very good brakes, no pull and I can stop straight and alot better than the stock setup.
