Yeah I have been told that as well, in fact I received a DVD explaining the use of the Jake brake and particulate filter regeneration from Dodge about 2 months after I bought my truck. I always use the Jake brake, which saves wear on the transmission and brakes too...



As an after thought, on my truck I have to manually push the button after every time I turn the truck off. My neighbor has an '09 cab and chassis; he never has to push the button, it stays on. I wonder if there is a way to change mine so I don't have to push the button...

There are threads dedicated to changing the exhaust brake to stay on, look through the first page or two of threads.



Also, it's NOT a Jake brake. The only brakes that are "Jake" brakes are made by Jacobs...

Nope. I would say you just need to continue doing what you've been doing. You're the ISB6. 7 mileage king on TDR. EB is following closely behind you but his truck rested for a few months a year or so ago when the oil patch was slow.

My truck is still a baby with only 93xxx miles in three years.

And what I mean is that vampire taps should never be used.

I don't recall seeing one. I would strip the insulation, wrap, solder and shrink tube the connections.

I've seen the posts on here as well Harvey. However I don't recall seeing one that did not use wire taps.
