The EGT on my freshly rebuilt 1995 engine climbs to 1000 pre-turbo degrees during fairly heavy acceleration. It has a 1996 auto pump and injectors, 4" exhaust, BHAF, stock plate slid forward 1/8", Duramax intercooler. The boost climbs to only 10psi. I would like to add a #5 plate but I need to tow sometimes. Is this EGT normal?

Thanks, Perry.

1000* pre-turbo is great. :D If it was post, I'd be worried.

Only 10# boost? That is really low for peak. Should see 18-20# max on a stock setup. If you have boost elbow, the boost is REALLY low. I could peg my 30# boost gauge at will with a #10 plate in stock position.

Do you have any boost leaks? Is the line to the AFC housing on the pump hooked up, and not pinched?
