EGT/boost/at temp ??????????

just put my new EGT gauge in and was woundering what would be red line ?the gauge reads 0-16 so were is the cool zone? also put my boost and trany temp in and what should they read? boost right know is reading 22psi at full tilt is this o. k?

any help would be great.

Ideally you don't let your EGT get over 12(00) on long steady runs, 13(00) for a few seconds. During races many guys have seen over 16(00) for a few seconds, apparently without hurting their engines. Usually cruising would be between 6(00) to 8(00).

Boost depends alot on what kind of fueling & turbo you have. I can see 40psi with my setup.

just got back from a drive down the hi way my egt's were at 10 at full tilt and my boost was 32psi at full on tilt. cruising the egt temp was running at 6 or 7 with no boost. dam it's fast

If you want a big improvement on acceleration buy a 3000rpm piers governor spring kit, you will be amazed buy how much faster it will acelerate. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Was that 1000 before or after the turbo?

I didn't see you indicate where you installed your pyro. probe.

i have the springs on order.



1000 with boost after i think?

i drilled and taped the exhaust manifold before the turbo just where the flang meats the turbo very easy to in stall. Oo.

Mine is a '95 auto, 3. 54 2 wd. Boost at 60 or 70 no load runs 0 to 10 psi with egt running between 500 to 650. Wide open throttle will get me 33 psi with temps to 1250 in a hurry. Also has a transmission temp that barely registers 100 when not towing. Haven't towed with it yet so Can tell you what the temps will be there. Do have a TST #6 torque installed. hope this helps.

RBales are you using a k+n air filter on your truck? Sounds like you could also use a 4" turbo to tailpipe exhaust system!!
