If I remember right the last issue of TDR had just what you ar asking as a test. I talked with Robert sat. at a SETDR gathering at Geno's and that was brought up. He said they all seem to have the same results. I put the Pro-Comp in mine just for piece of mind. According to the artical, the probe hardly ever goes bad. I talked to a big truck mech that told me he has a bucket full of the probes.

Keep it till it quits.

the comp probe is much better then the regular probe much more durable!. . i had 2 regular probes and both failed . . i have two comp probes now and much better durability and better response. . i have always done a preturbo setup . . now with the reg probe i could not see cool down temps preturbo. . it would just go to zero. . with the comp setup it its at 400 and gradually goes down to 300. . i was very impressed...

main thing was ability to take the probe out and re use it. . ha the regular probe would fail as soon as it was removed from the manifold. .comp has has no such problem. . very much worth the extra $$

thanks

I have the comp probe and have not had a problem. When I purchased gauges for Nicoles truck I talked to Ted Jannetty about the differences in the probes. He said he will not sell anything but the comp probe for our trucks because of the amount of failures he's had with the standard probe. Something about (this is NOT a quote) the rattling of the diesel causes the probe to fail prematurely.

If I were you spend the extra dough and get the comp probe. I've never been happier. :)
