My Autometer EGT gauge works but sticks at whatever temperature it achieves for a bit and then it'll jump (either up or down) to the next temp. after a bump, tap, or on it's own sometimes.

What's up with it? If it doesn't move for a bit and I tap it, it'll go to its new reading. It's not a fluid motion like the Fuel pressure and Boost guages.

Help,

Not sure about that deal. Most of the time when a pyro acts up it'll do crazy things like jump up 300* and then drop 500* and then jump 700*... etc... The usual culprit to that activity is a poor connection from the thermocouple to the gauge wire. Try taking the little nuts off the yellow and red wires right above the exhaust manifold. Clean them good with some emery cloth or something, re-assemble them tighly and slide over new heat shrink tube. If that doesn't work, I'd contact AutoMeter and see what they say.

Thanks Mr. Gibbs, I appreciate the starting point. I'll do this tomorrow morning and see what happens. I'm pretty sure the measurements the gauge us giving are accurate... it just doesn't register quick enough for me.

Thanks again,

Staton

My autometer pryo was doing something similar and all I did was take the probe out of the manifold, clean the soot off and put it back in and I've had no problems since.
