Ok, I was traveling up a 1. 5 mile hill (not sure about the grade) about 60-65 mph with about 3000 lbs in a enclosed trailer. I then all of a sudden heard this loud psssssssssss. I though I had blown a tire so I pulled off to the side of the road and didn't see anything. I popped the hood and still didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I closed the hood and slowly drove to the next exit. I noticed I could peg my egt gage very easily (1500) with little or no boost. I did keep my egt's down to 1100 the rest of the way. When I got off at the next exit I looked at the turbo and noticed that the lower intercooler boot had slid off. I put the clamp back on and started down the road. Pulling out of the parking lot it came off again. This happened about 3 times. After I tightened it the third time it broke. I drove to lowes and bought a 1. 08 hose clamp and it worked fine for the remaining 250 miles. How in the world do I get this boot to stay on? I don't even have an ez or injectors. If/when I get one will this boot do this to me again? Thanks for the help.

when I buy one of these clamps from napa, am I suppose to torque them to a certain lb/ft or just tighten them as tight as I can get them?

Clean the metal surfaces on the inter cooler with brake cleaner, or something along the lines of that. After it dries grab your wife's hair spray and spray where you cleaned, before it dries slide the inter cooler hose back on and tighten the clamp. Let it dry before you go and pound on it!!!
