EGT Gauge

I have the TST PowerMax Box with the digital gauges. A question I have is could I hook up another gauge to the pyro probe. In otherwords can one probe run two gauges?

I don't believe it the thermocouple generates enough power for 2 gauges.

If you hooked up two gauges to one thermocouple you would end up with low readings on both gauges. An EGT gauge is basically a voltmeter, the thermocouple puts out voltage, and the hotter it gets, the higher voltage it puts out. The problem being that the gauge and wire are matched to the thermocouple, and if you ran two gauges, there would be twice the load on the thermocouple, causing a voltage drop, and low readings on both gauges.



That would be very bad…. could result in melting down something expensive…. .

So I guess if I want to run a set of pillar gauges and have one of the gauges an EGT, I will have to install another probe. Don't really need the pillar gauges but they look nice
