when i drilled mine, i had the truck idling to blow out most of the chips, and used an 18v cordless drill with a 90° adapter head on it. pilot drilled like 5/32" then went to 11/32" for the 1/8npt. shut the truck down, and tapped it with a greased tap.

My question about drilling the manifold is, how to get my electric drill with bit installed into position to drill into the vertical part of the manifold.

Inputs please.

grieke2002.

When I did mine, I used a right angle adapter with my corded electric drill. Still didn't fit well, so I removed the wheel well liner - it's about 8(?) screws and it pops out pretty easily. Turned the wheel to the left and I had plenty of room.

I didn't remove the turbo or tape the exhuast pipe - just used a good sharp drill and a greased tap when tapping.

No problems 6000 miles later.

Side mount EGT probe.

I pre-drilled with a 9/64" and then a 5/16" for the tap using an air powered drill. It's the smallest drill I have but was still a little tight.

The chips were really small and I kept putting motor oil on everything. The chips stuck to the drills and tap and the oil washed out the rest.

I put a dab of anti-sieze on the threads in case I have to replace the thermocouple.

500 miles with no problems.

Got mine installed at 4whp for $80. 00.

Not bad... the westach is real nice but a little bright at night... need to find a way to turn just the gauge light down.
