Had my dealer install my combo EGT/Boost gauge. I don't have the tools and was lacking the b... s to try the drilling/tapping thing.
As soon a s I got it back and stepped on the gas, the turbo boost hose came off its connector at the manifold end.
Stopped, slipped it back on, stepped on the gas and the other end came off behind the gauge. Listened to the rush of air all the way home.
Took the pillar off and reconnected the hose to the gauge pushing it all the way over the "hump". Bolted the pillar back in place and went for test drive. 200 feet and the other end popped back off.
Reconnected the thing again and used a wire tie wrap to keep the dang blamed hose on the nipple.
Loaded the camper and went camping for the weekend. Worked fine.
I'm not too crazy about my wire tie wrap. Anyone know of a clamp I could use. I'm afraid the wire will cut the hose after a while.
Oh yes, forgot to mention, the EGT never did work. When I got back I called the dealer mechanic and he suggested reversing the wires on back of the gauge. Off came the pillar once again, switched the black and red and voila!, EGT works.
I'll take that darn pillar off one more time when I get my green bulb for the gauge. The yellow ist just too bright.
The gauge fits nice and looks snazzy on the single A pillar mount. I especially like being able tho keep my handle to help me in and out of the truck.
