Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) egt how high? how long?

how long can u run w/pre turbo egt at 1400 and 47 psi boost how can i lower my temps i just installed bluechip box and 14sq housing no waste gate does this matter?

I would say absolutely no longer than a minute or so. Sounds like you need a bigger charger, like a hx-40 or a b-1. Dean

I would not do it for very long, say 20 seconds tops.



If you have DD2's, a VA box and a Blue Chip fms I would say you need a different turbo to lower egt's. Try an HX40 or B1.

I don't recall ever seeing a spec as to how LONG you can exceed 1300 degrees - but sledpullers and quarter mile racers do it often enough without harm - probably safe for a minute or so at REAL high (up to 1600 or so) temps - proportionately more the lower you go - let your conscience and yer bank account be yer guide!

If you have ever seen the tops of pistons run hard and long you would not want to exceed the 1300 for to long. Looks like different size BB's welded to the top of the pistons.
