Just got a 2022 3500 and was wondering if anybody has installed an aftermarket EGT probe. I know the truck will send a ready to gauges but have heard its an after turbo measurement. I did the exhaust manifold pre turbo on my 2018 and was considering that same spot if the manifolds are the same.

Going to use an Edge CTS3 and the EZX for gauges and tuning.

Are you going to be tuning the truck? Or just monitoring EGTs?

EGT1 is post turbo, but not far enough to skew readings. It’s consistent and easy to use. Coming from pre and post pyro’s on my 05 I have no issues looking at EGT1 and just watching it. No way I’d drill the manifold on a truck with a warranty, especially for something that’s not needed on a stock truck.

Just a small HP bump. I tow a lot (equipment) and like the extra for grades. Need to watch EGT though.

SO or HO?

What kind of tune?

I’d try it stock for a while. My stock HO 22 easily and effortlessly out pulls my decently modified and tuned 5.9 (480hp at the crank), and stock HO 18 (25% more rear wheel torque than the ‘18). There isn’t anything needed to do, and certainly nothing at the cost of a warranty.

The exhaust manifold did change for 19+.

It' HO so probably wouldn't add a lot. My understanding is the EZX will only add 60 max unlike the Juice. I regularly to 20K and do mostly want the gauges to keep an eye on things.

I've figured I might be my own warranty shop since 2001 :) But have never had an issue with the dealers in my area.

Copy on the manifold. I'll have to do some more research

Aside from a throttle booster Edge isn’t showing any tuning products for the 22’s. If you do end up tuning I wouldn’t run an edge, they haven’t ever been great CR tuners. A custom UDC Pro tune would do a lot better, as would a stealth box. Just not a lot of great options short of custom tuning.

All that being said I’d at least give it a try stock for a while and see what you think, and give it a few thousand miles of shakedown.
