CLAYTON- no need to apologize for a lame joke, this forum is full of them... ... :rolleyes:

Seems like I remember reading in the magazine sometime ago that the Type K t-couple is good to about 2500deg; MUCH hotter than anyone should see out of a CTD exhaust. If you are melting the tip, you have MUCH MUCH bigger issues to ocntend with than just a junked turbo.

I remember reading the same somewhere else, but why do they burn hotter? Farthest away from the radiator?



Also, what do you guys use to seal the thermocouple pipe threads? Regular pipe dope or special high temp stuff? When I look at all the pyro installation pictures I see some white stuff around the top of the manifold so I'm assuming it's regular pipe dope?

I just used anti-seize compound.
