My truck had a EGT guage on it when I bought it (post turbo), I'm going to put on a 4" exhaust today and probably move the probe pre-turbo my question is what thread and size are the taps for most probes? I want to have as much together as possible before I start. Thanks!

Check out this article I wrote a long time ago. It's referred to these days as the "Hoot" method over there in the Duramax forums. Size depends on your particular probe. That aren't all the same but most are 1/8-27 NPT

Do the 1/8 first and then if something gets messed you can go to the 1/4. .

one more thing: don't run your tap too deep. Use a standard NPT pipe tap. They are tapered. You don't want the threads to stick out into the exhaust stream.
