Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) EGT Probe

Has anyone installed an EGT probe that slides through a collar and is tightened down with a set screw? Any pros and cons on this setup? My Auto Meter Nexus guages came with this setup.

I had some of that style on an old race car with the data logger. They kept coming loose for me and eventually blew one out during a pass.



I like the simple compression fitting style.

I have used the set screw style for RTD's at work, I think the threaded version would be better in an vibration prone application such as our trucks.

The compression style doesn't leak pressure either.
