You can put it here, Now we put the probe in #2 exhaust port. The material use in the exhaust manifold is 3/8-7/16 thick just above the Turbo, its 3/16 at exhaust ports.

BOB4X4 does the Nox sensor have dual purpose post EGT Probe? or is the #4port the only EGT sensor/port pre-turbo

I used to have all the gauges and watched them like a hawk on my 98 12V because you had to if you bombed the truck. These new trucks can not hurt them selves! It's a waste of time and money to anything other than regular maintenance. Oh also just use the hell out of it and enjoy the ride!!!

Pre Turbo is best, and at the "Y" is where I installed mine. Cummins12V98, his 4th gen is running Edge Juice with attitude with the CTS2, as soon as you change any programing on the 6.7 for any year/HP/TQ, you must monitor the true EGT. If your not going to use the truck capabilities to the max, then maybe, but if you tow any kind of load you need to monitor EGT. Boost is also important due to the fact head gaskets are known to fail on the 6.7 that have other than stock programing, although it's mostly due to EGR removal.

LLucas, are you seeing the boost the 6.7 reports through the OBDII, or do you have you an independent sensor?

When I removed my Air Horn during my EGR system cleaning, I tapped for my boost sensor at that time in the Air Horn, but before that, I used a boost bolt.

Good info guys.... I use my Edge CTS, that I removed from my old 3rg gen, on my new truck... one of these days I will add on the EGT probe laying in my toolbox.

I realize these trucks are safe in stock form, but I like to monitor it anyway... gives me something to do on long drives.
