I am working on mounting my new Isspro guages and have one quick question. Is everyone mounting the amplifer box inside the cab our outside in the engine compartment. I assume it would be better to mount it inside... . keep it out of weather...

Thanks

Seth

Welcome to the TDR! :)

My Isspro oil temp gauge also has the amp. box. I have it in the cab, under the dash. I didn't want the chance of having road salt/gunk get in the connections, causing corrosion.

Thats kinda what i was thinking... . just wanted to see if anyone was mounting them outside with luck. I will probably mount it in the cab for that since of security.

I put mine in the cab, under the dash. It is much easier to run the wires with it under the dash. If it is under the hood you will have to get that big plug through the firewall to plug into the gauge. My ISSPro EGT has 2 x T5 bulbs, so if you are getting the bulb covers, make sure you get 4, one on each bulb doesn't seem to change the color enough and the gauge still appears white. 2 covers on the big bulb in the boost gauge did the trick, I need 2 more little ones for the EGT gauge, I'm still waiting for them to arrive.

just put in my isspro's last sunday. i too put the box under the dash. after pulling the cover i found that there is lots of room there. enjoy. :)

Since we're on that subject, why does Isspro have that amplifier box anyways? The Autometer pyro I bought for my 91 doesn't have one. I'd like to buy more Isspro EV series electric gauges but it seems like all of them have that amplifier box. One is enough under my dash.

Not all of the EV gauges have an amp. box. The boost guage I have doesn't have one. Just the oil temp guage ( used on trans).
