EGT raise at idle in Drive?

Any body with automatics notice the Pyro move up above 300 degrees in drive idling along and when you shift into Nuetral it goes back down to 300 or 275 degrees,then shift BACK into drive or reverse it goes up again?--any ideas? <---sorry moderator about the misspell back there... my bad

Yes, they all do it, it is just a load on the engine that makes the EGT go up. No worries man!

If you have an AT temp gauge you will also see it rise idling in gear while stopped. Besides the added load in gear the hotter air flowing though the AT cooler also flows though your intercooler raising your air intake temp which will raise the EGT.
