I was wondering about the placement of the EGT sensor on my truck. I bought it with the Bank kit and the BD exhaust brake installed. Whoever installed it put the EGT sensor in the housing for the exhaust brake. I know there is a temp difference between pre and post turbo so I don't let the gauge go above 1000 degrees. My question is since the Ottomind is using both boost pressure and EGT to set the fueling of the engine. Would I gain anything by moving aside from actual readings on temp? According to the installation instructions it should be placed in the exhaust manifold. Also I have read were in some cases the turbo has been destroyed  due to failure of the sensor.

There can be in excess of 300* difference between post & pre turbo temperatures. There are very few failures of egt probes these days. Drill & tap that manifold for safety sake.
