EGT sensor

Coworker has an '08 3500, and wants to know whether to put his EGT sensor in the manifold or in the exhaust pipe. Thanks

If your friend wants to read as close to actual exhaust temp as possible he should drill and tap his exhaust manifold and install his pyro pre-turbo. If he installs the pyro downstream post-turbo he'll always have to add approximately 300* to his gauge reading to estimate his actual exhaust temp.

I don't know anyone that installs their pyro post turbo. I've owned three Dodge Rams with gauges. All have had the exhaust manifold drilled and tapped to install the pyro.
