Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) egt temps

hello everybody I am new to the site and was wondering if somebody could answer a question? I have an 02 HO ctd, I just installed a 4 inch SS exhaust and egt and boost gauges, no chip. My egt guage reads 600 degrees cruising at 70 mph and it seemed a little high. Any input would be appreciated

600* pre-turbo sounds just about right. Seems to be the "sweet spot" on mine.
