All depends on on where you want to measure temp. I installed in pre-turbo, and tried to place the end of the probe right in the middle of the space.
It's not the thermocouple that's threaded, it's the compression fitting that's threaded. It doesn't take much torque to seal it, I ruined the first thermocouple I installed.
Yep what he said. I did mine post turbo though. Also make sure that when you install the compression fitting into the manifold that you use some Anti Sieze on the threads or you will have a hard time if you ever need to change out the fitting. Plus it keeps you from galling up the threads that you tap in the manifold as the mainifold is softer metal that the fitting.
