I just completed installation of Jammer IIIs and a dodgezilla turbo with the Banks 14 cm exhaust housing. The wife and I took it out for a ride and man it runs good! Problem is the exhaust temp gets to 1550 in sixth and to 1400 in lower gears. The turbo pressure gets to 34 psi in every gear. I searched other threads and saw where people were using a J hook to control wastegate opening. I have a Banks Big Head wastegate controller and what I think I'm seeing, is that the wastegate is opening at 34 psi and the EGT's are shooting up. I'm not clear on the relationship of wastegate opening and EGTs and could I limit my wastegate differently to keep EGT's lower? Of course any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
You could try an adjustable boost elbow but I bet with the amount of fuel you have it would,nt change things to much. I dont know what the Banks system does for fueling and timing or if it is adjustable. You could unhook it and try it but then you probably wouldn't have boost fooling.

You have a Bank's fueling box, those are pretty aggressive, so you have a lot of fuel being sent to your injectors.



And, as if that weren't enough, you have a set of DD 3s, dumping all that fuel on that hot southwestern air.



I'll bet that bad boy smokes pretty good, huh? :-laf

Yeah she puts out a nice plume of black smoke if I get in it at lower RPMs. It behaves nicely if I don't push hard and keep the RPMs a little higher. Can't afford twins just yet. I'll read a few threads on Snow water injection. Thanks.
 
I ran a Banks Big Head in my '01. 5 ETH. It didn't open 'till the boost was 38 psi. If yours is blowing open sooner, try adjusting the rod for a little more tension.
