Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) EGT's?

hey all, im seeing 1000*F at 3\4 throttle getting on the highway... i have a BHAF with out a heatshield (my ol' man is making one right now outta stainless! Oo. ) and i turned the starwheel up a little bit... i was seeing 1000*F before i turned the starwheel, i was wondering if this was a safe operating temp before i turn the starwheel even more?

1000* is ok. i have been told to stay at or below 1250* for prolonged periods of time. the starwheel doent have anything to do with max temps. the starwheel is for preboost fuel. turn the starwheel out to get more fuel before boost comes up. if you tighten the starwheel it will fuel less before boost comes up.
