Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) elctrical issues

well i just got my truck back from the transmission shop and it wont shut off by the key, i have no wait to start no speed no tach and the truck does not charge. i just put alot of money in it so if any one knows anything about itwould be helpful thank you nick

If everything was working before the transmission shop got their hands on it, I'd look for a connector on the PCM to be loose or off. Not sure if that would affect the kill solenoid too but the first thing to check for are wires or connectors not in place. Take it back to the shop and tell them to fix what THEY broke.

If your in the right forum then your fuel shut off solenoid rod is not dropping when your turn the key to off. (Engine not shutting down. )



The engine speed sensor located on top left side of damper could be unplugged,miss adjusted or bad. ( The engine speed sensor runs the tach, lets the pcm know the engine is running so it will tell the alternator to charge and occasionally keep the speedo from not working for some strange reason. ) the connector to the vehicle speed sensor could be unplugged or bad.



But take it back to trans shop to see what they unplugged.
