 Can anyone terll me what is happening with my elect. door locks ? Only the right one gives me any problem, which is intermitent. What happens is when you get out to lock the doors ,the lock on the pass side does not lock. You operate the lock again and it will work. What`s going on with this switch? I`m a little bit electrically challenged !!!

I had some really bizzare problems on my 01' a few months back with the power door locks. They would lock on there own, unlock while driving, etc. It started to happen out of nowhere. I pulled the power lock fuse, waited a few minutes, then put it back. Have had no problems since, give it a try.

Are you locking using the key from outside or using the drivers door switch? I never lock mine with the key (or unlock with the key for that matter), but I seem to remember that either the lock or unlock took two twists of the key to operate both locks.

I have the same problem in my 97. Was going to try to find problem, but figured it was easier to just hit the lock twice.

As far as a fix, check for good ground on the soleniod. I think they are chassis ground through the mounts to the door. Pull the mounting bolt and clean the area under it. If this doesn't work, you can Ohm the soleniod for high resistance (if some one can tell you nominal values). Next step is a replacement.
