This has been discussed at length in the past and some have done electric fans with some success, but these were mainly guys with 2nd Gen trucks which didn't have as good of fan control as the newer rigs have. But for anyone living in a hot climate and/or tows with much regularity the electric fans aren't going to cool like the stock fan, and that's even more true of the 04. 5 and newer trucks.
Where electrics have worked well is adding airflow over the AC condensor and set up to come on when the AC is activated. This helps out the AC system during stop & go driving, and may help out the cooling system a tad.
