Mother-in-law, do you get along with her?

1. Electric Gate - We have an electric gate at the end of the drive. Battery powered - new deep cycle battery - with solar recharger. Only problem is the remotes won't activate it now (they used to). Both remotes have new batteries and the led blinks when you push the button. Gate works fine when I push the hard wired button on the control box but I'm getting tired of getting out of the truck to open the gate. Anybody have any ideas about what's up with this? BTW, if I hold the remote about 2 inches from the antenna on the control /battery box, it works.

2. Stucco - Part of the house has painted brick. We want stucco there. Can I stucco over that? Need a bonding agent? Will the stucco hold as well as it would on unpainted brick (which I have done in past with no problems)?

TIA

2. you could sand blast the wall with the paint to remove it, or how's about putting up steel or fiberglass mesh drilled & screwed into the brick before applying the stucco... then it will for sure hold

Could it be your gate remote has a few different frequencies and changing batteries caused it to reset to the default? Many remotes automatically adjust for this but I've seen some that don't, you have to do it manually.

coax from signal receiver antenna to the brain might be corroded up...

also the antenna converter box might be bad... from the antenna signal to the trip switch... try replacing coax first

ours antenna didn't receive well for a long time/years [it's up the night light pole about 12' high]. . I recently put a small 8" antenna mounted to the top of the big box that houses the workings and put in a amplifier that was made for dish systems . . two feeds in and one out. . hooked both antennas to this amplifier and wala. . works from a farther distance now than ever... can now push the remote from about a full block away and the gate is open by the time we get there.

Recommended to be the best for stucco is Ridged polystyrene board, you know that white board a couple inches thick, it is soooo easy to put up and the stucco sticks like glue, you can also make all kinds of different shapes with it including your business name or your street address.

Thanks for the info, y'all. Guess now I can get on with my projects this weekend. TDR - The Ultimate Resource strikes again. :)
