Electric motors on Turbos

I was looking at an old Popular Science magazine today.

(June 2001) Shows that Garett is comming out with a turbo with an electric motor to pre-spool up the turbo to rid of lag. Suppose to be comming out in 2003. Do they make units for our trucks? How Come Piers or Kwikkurt isnt riggin this friggin ***** on there turbos!!! (hint hint)

It sounds like a good idea,but if Piers or Kurt made one,they'd have to bomb the electric motor too! Imagine zero turbo lag,from a big turbo,it would be nice.

TNG is Ball Bearing turbos...
