2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Electric seat belt retractor solenoid

Anyone had to deal with this? I did a search under everything from the above down to just plain "seat belts" and nothing came up.



'99 Quad cab with driver's side selt belt locked up. Won't go in or out. Have checked all connectors under seats and all are tight. Manual suggests retractor solenoid, and if that checks out may even need to replace the whole seat belt retractor. Which will be a real PITA to get to 'cuz it's buried inside the seat back. And, I'll bet, expensive to boot.



Anyone else had to work through this yet?

I had a 13 yr old mazda that we took to the dealer, they replaced it completely free
also an eclipse with the auto seatbelt, also free, it was about 9-12 yrs old.
I am almost sure it a federal law they have to fix it.
