Okay, I finally broke down today and bought the add-on tow wiring for my truck. The guy who had it before me had a 6 pin wired in to the bumper and the bed, and they did a pretty shoddy job of it too. So I am working on hooking up the wiring and I've decided that instead of running the power wire all the way up to the battery, and the brake controller wire through the firewall, that I want to utilize the factory connector where the power and brake control wires are already installed down to the rear wiring harness (for those of you with the service manual, it is connector C217) located right behind the front left wheel well liner.

I am wondering if anyone on this board works for a Dodge dealer and can tell me if they sell replacement pins for this connector. If not, has anyone bought replacement pins for this connector? I know that they are available through an electronics supplier but figuring out which one is the tricky part.

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks KLSund, that should definitely help. I assume that I should be able to go to my dealer with the kit # and order it? None of the online parts dealers will bring up anything using the kit #'s.

Well, I broke down today and went to the dealer to buy the repair kits for the connector that I was looking for. The one in particular that I was looking for is called an Apex connector by the service manual. It turns out that these kits are an entire connector (plug) and a bunch of pre-crimped pigtails. So you don't actually get the terminals which is what I was looking for. So $70 for both sides of the connector and I have much more than I really wanted/needed.

After close examination of the terminal, I found a marking for the manufacturer and did a google search. I then found a North American distributor that happens to allow a small quantity purchase. Here is a link to their website (FCI Automotive Connector Systems - Small Quantity Program - Provided by NTI, LLC). So if anyone is looking for the terminals for an Apex type connector, you can go here and get just the terminal, instead of having to buy a bunch of stuff that you don't actually need, from the dealer.

Hope this helps someone.
