B&W Turnover Ball hitch install question

I am trying to find out what type of connector is on the wiring harness for the 7 pin electrical connector. I pulled the bumper to install the Superhitch and I forgot to re lock the clip and Mr Murphy found it and put some road salt in there between the hot wire and marker light wire so my running lights stay on all the time. Stealer says connector is only available with wiring harness about $125 Thanks for the help

How about buying one of those trailer light kits which has a harness insert from your typical auto parts place? The have the same plugs (maybe) since the are "plug n play" and you could scab one from there? Maybe $29 instaed of $125... . if not you have to find a real specialty vendor... .

why don't you just get a new 7 pin receptacle (about $10 for a good one), disconnect the batteries in the truck, cut the old connector off (one wire at a time) and install the new one? bg

When I got my truck the 7 pin plug was missing so I went to the stealer and paid the stupid amount they wanted. When I got under the truck I found the previous owner had hacked the harness.

I installed a junction box I got at the local autoparts store, I think the mfg was DORMAN ( or something like that). It is designed for trailer wiring and is weather tight. It has terminal posts inside so you put each wire to its own post. I mounted this to my frame by the spare tire. I cut the end off the stupidly expensive harness and wired it into the box.

Oh by the way the DC wiring harness I got from the stealer was not color coded the same as my truck :--)

The junction box really worked out well because I have since gone to a goose neck. I was able to pick up another 7 pin plug and some 7 conductor trailer wire at the local trailer/RV store and wire it into the junction box. A nice clean install that is weather tight.

If I had gone to the trailer/RV store the first time I would have saved over $100. 00!

Good luck

Connector Type for 7 pin

The supplier of the connector is Pollak part number 12-707 which is mounted to the hitch. If you need the mate for the trailer a electical supplier can provide the connetor. Cost was about $15. 00
