We were planning on taking my wife's 2500 Longhorn Laramie to see family in San Antonio for Christmas on Monday. This May or may not happen...

The truck seems to have electrical gremlins.
It rebooted the 8.4 inch center console screen on her twice this week while driving. It did it to me today. The dash EVIC for the driver seems to be fine. However this morning it shows a brake light out that is actually working just find. Randomly the keyless entry on the doors also seems to randomly not work.

With all of these problems the truck still runs great!
it does seem that all these issues starting popping up when it started raining here in Houston this week. Am I looking for a bad ground or loose connector?

the dealer said getting it this week to look at would be hard...

ant ideas?

My 2013 shows a brake light out at 7500 miles and the clock keeps falling behind. I haven't checked the light yet but I'm taking the truck in next Friday to have them check the fuel heater.

Loose battery cable or bad battery will cause that. You have to check and make sure and it is easy to do.

I checked battery cables and such and the batteries are fine. I did notice about half of the fuses in the fuse box were not seated well. I think the brake light out might be that the resistor in the tail light for the LED bulb might have a bad connection or be bad. I did not take a meter to it but the resistance drop would make the truck think the bulb is out even though the LEDs work.

Gods, were getting to the point where we have to pull over every 30 miles and reboot the vehicle. Windows on wheels.

Find the fuse for the radio and if it locks up, pull the fuse for a few seconds. I certainly would not delay my trip for a radio concern.
So did you install different tail lights, and the lamp out started after that?

This truck still has the oem LEDs that come with the longhorn Laramie. When I pulled the tail light it was obvious that there is a small resistor pack for the led on the bottom of the lens package. I'm betting on either a loose connection of open resistor....light still works.

Batteries were load tested and are ok....

would not delay trip but might have considered taking our 05 with 250k on the odometer :)

Drove the 13 all day today running errands and it runs fine so we will take it.

You have all the symptoms of a bad battery or bad battery connection. Suggest you revisit battery testing and examination on a more stringent basis.
