Just got my truck and the wiring harness is a mess. The rear section that goes to thetail lites and fuel sending unt are fried looks like one wire melted the rest. Was wondering if anyone knows of a replacement harness being sold for the entire truck? I was hoping to replace it instead of splicing it back together.

You should be able to get the wiring from the dealer. They normally arent cheap though.

If it is just the rear section I think there are connectors in the drivers front wheel well that seprate that section from the rest of the wiring.

Any idea on why it melted?

 I got the truck in this condition look like the power wire for the tail lights shorted and fried it all. From the looks of it the fuse did not protect the system or they had the wrong fuse installed. Thanks for the info.

Not sure what year your truck is, but I just did my whole tail light/ all rear wiring no my 97. Had to pull the tank in order to get the wiring up in the frame. Very easy job, took about three hour start to finish. The connector was under the drivers floor board and goes al the way to the rear corners, trailer wiring etc.

Cost was about $250 complete no splicing neccessary, all the proper connectors.

Good luck!!
