So I have just about bitten off a little more than i can chew. I took my 94 in to the dealership to have the throttle linkage recall done and while it was there they did a couple of other recalls including the ignition switch. while they were in there they called me to let me know that there were melted wires in the harness... . I thanked them and declined their $300 quote to fix it and said I will take care of it myself. I now have the dash torn apart and the tape removed from the harness and have discovered that it is just 2 wires that have shorted. These 2 wires come out of what appears to be some sort of "null connector" or a splice??? Both wires look to be grey with a black stripe. Here are pictures of the connector. Does anyone know what the connector is for?? any information would be most appreciated.

Probably no help but I have a Haines manual for that year model and the only grey wire with a black strip I can find goes from the pcm to the tach and the engine speed sensor. bg

I shot a reply in your 911 thread. But How dead is dead (Cranks but no start, Power with no crank, Starts but will not stay running, Runs but won't shift anywhere, ... ... . )
