This is kind of ironic, I just got home from electrical class; unfortunately AC. Well today I finally got my electrical terminal that goes on the intake heater and I put it on; with dielecrtic grease on all the connections and on the battery posts. And I replaced the end connector on this purple wire that goes to the pos. post. well I get in my truck to go to class and when I push my window switches the windows dont move and the messages

"Brakes!" "Water In Fuel!" "Wait to start!" all light up. It also does it when I push any of the heat and air buttons. I traced the purple wire to the firewall where it goes through above the steering shaft; if that helps. What can I do??

:( Rats.

Still does it even after I took the purple/brown wire off. What caused this? Those two things were the only things I messed with

This is bumming me out I still can't find what's wrong!!

Wirinig Diagrams

Steve it sounds like you need wiring diagrams for your truck, have a look at section 8 of the service manual. The problem I think that you have from your description is something is shorted out, possibly the ignition switch or some of the fuse links under the hood. If you don't have a service manual, send PM me with a hard email address and I can help you out.

I have this same problem on my truck. It happens to me when the key is not in the right position. usually it sticks a little forward after you start it. I just turn the key back a hair to the run position and everything is fine.

Thanks guys,

I do have a service manual, but I can't make any sense out of it.

I am going to take it to `a alternator place Mon. Meanwhile farmerzo I'll try your suggestion.
