My Friend has a 2004. 5 CTD long bed auto, and he has the same problem... He had it to the dealer 3 seperate times, replaced the seatbelt assy it self (figured it was the switch in the buckle) and the same thing happened still. Dealer said it was some kind of electrical interferrence and nothing they can do.
could be a "ground loop", when the ground of one connection actually back feeds power to another ground. I have seen this with custom car stereos. Two many different grounds in a close area. Electrical path gets screwed up.
Might depend on the brand of the phone. It is electrical interference. Have someone plug a different brand of phone in and if it does not happen it is your phone causing the problem.
Talking to a buddy at a Chrysler store and he saw it happen on a chrysler Pacifica a while back, but I don't recall the phone brand.
