Electrical Question For 03 Truck

I Just Received A White Knight Back Up Light Assembly. I Measured The Current Output Of The Knight Assembly And It Was 8. 0 Amps... . if I Hook This Unit Into My Trailer Wiring Assembly (factory Provided) When I Use The Standard Back Up Lights Plus The White Knight. . im Wondering If I Will Blow A Fuse In The Truck????. i'm Sure Some Of You Have Done This Installation But I Have No Idea What Amperage That Circuit Is Fused At???? Any Help ????thanks Doc Ps,,the White Knight Has A 12 Volt Fused (red) Leed That I Can Run All The Way To The Battery, But The Wiring Instructions Advise Using The 7 Pin Receptical... .

I would use the 7 pin receptacle but from the back side, they don't have you plug it into the front do they? Remember that receptacle has a power feed that will recharge low travel trailer batteries so 8 amps for the lamps is well below what that circuit can handle.



edit:

I took a look at the wire diagram for an 03 and see the white wire with a red stripe at the back of the plug should be hot at all times and is protected with a 40A fuse in the #1 location. Using that circuit with a relay should work fine.

:-laf :-laf I know, its funny cuz my wife thinks I have an addiction and since I am in denial she is probably right. I will try to have a good weekend. . mostly yard work but if I get done early I might try to fit in the fuel tank vent mod on my 05. Oo.
