Electronic overhead console

Does anyone know if my 95 Ram 2500 would be prewired for the electronic overhead console with the direction and temperature readings? It was prewired for power mirrors if that means anything. (They did not come on it). It is an SLT. I am interested in putting one of those in.

Pulled the parts catalog and took a look. From what I could tell, the istrument panel section of wiring (the bulk of the package in the dash) has no specific option for with and without overhead console. There is an option listed for the part running up to the overhead. So, with a service manual you may be able to splice in at the main harness. My truck doesn't have the console, but has the mount for the temp sender behind the radiator, so some parts are there.

Seen a few for sale on ebay from time to time. The electrical section is real useful for many things. It is darn near 200 pages and gives wire colors, joint connectors and locations as well as pinouts. A quick/cheaper/but slightly harder to use option is to get a subscription from Alldata.com. About $25 a year. They have the schematics for electrical and other for your year scanned out of the FSM. Can be slow without a broadband connection, but cheaper than a FSM. Good luck.

My 96 + 97 neither one had wiring in the overhead for anything except the lights, the under dash stuff may be there.

No the wires are not there. It is not too bad of an install if you plan on doing the conversion. I installed the O/H console with temp/direction in my 96 that was not equiped from the factory with it. I have it documented if you need a little wiring help.

I would LOVE to do this to my '01! Bought mine in Sept so I had to buy off lot instead of ordering. Is this an easy install? I'm not much for installing things, but step-dad is an engineer, so we can usually install most stuff. What might this cost? Any advice/info appreciated!
