Membership Cancelled

This morning it only took a Chrysler tech about 15 minutes of work to cancel my membership in this club.

At least I got the truck washed. :)

I am having the exact same problem, they did a T25 update, now ECT light is on and cruise control not working. Can this happen for any update, is it related to the updates or the re-flashing procedure? They refuse to fix it at no cost. Will you please help me understand a little more. Does every update requires overwoverwriting of the whole ROM chip? Thanks for any help ;)

Go back and read Bob 4x4 and SAG2 replies. The tech didn’t follow the procedure completely and the shop should easily fix it “quick fast and in a hurry”

Hey, thanks for the fast reply, Please, bear with me. I did read Bos's post. I need an answer to an specific question because. my issue is not understanding what the problem is. The problem is I am having a very hard time convincing, the service bureaucracy of this particular dealer that they did something wrong and that I don't want a free ride. - My question is: if this procedure applies to any firmware update weather is a R20, T25, etc.. or any update for that matter. I even show them the forum and their response was "that is a different update sir" "R60 is a passenger airbag update, yours is a seat belt activation update sir". I am just trying to get enough info so with confidence I can tell them that tech did not follow a procedure that also applies to the T25 update they performed to this truck. I would like to have as much information as possible before returning there or trying a different dealer. Thank you for your help and patience.
I have spent some much time calling, emailing, and going back and forth to this places which is 50 miles away from my house.

Talk to the service Manager. Ask him to look up the ending procedure, and verify that there is the step it reactivate
. If the step isn't performed, you get what you got.

So we can be clear,it was the T 25 recall done right before your issue and nothing else.
The recall has 2 lines of instruction added. The Abs initialization still has to be performed. The added lines of instruction are 19. Turn off vehicle, unplug micro pod and close the door.let all modules go to sleep. 20. Reconnect witch and clear any dtcs that may have been set.

If your dealer does not step up and at least check your truck and give you the dtcs that are active call the customer care 800# in your owners manual

So...I forgot about reading this thread a few years ago. Heck, I forget most everything in minutes anymore. Went to the dealer Wed to get the T25 and T05 recalls done. No parts available for the other two recalls I have. Drove away and did not need cruise for about half my commute to the dealer (65 miles) and it would not engage. Got home and saw this thread (again) but too late to help me that day. Went back yesterday, with information from this post in hand, and in about 30 minutes was back out of there. Works now. Just wish I could have avoided another long drive to get it right. Have to go again sometime to get the other recalls done so maybe, just maybe, I will remember this time to check on it earlier.

When I had my truck in for the T25 and the scr recall last fall I would very occasionally and randomly get a "service airbag, see dealer" message and asked them to look at it. They said they would have to charge me a diagnostic fee for connecting to the truck. My response, Say what? How are you doing the recall if your not connecting to the truck? He pushed back that is standard procedure, if I hadn't already made the hour long trek to drop off the truck I would have cancelled my entire visit and went elsewhere. As it was I voiced my displeasure and said to just ignore that code when it shows up on the techs witech . I understand very much a business needs to make money to sustain themselves but when you attempt to profit off of a customer's lack of understanding or knowledge there is a serious deficiency of morals.
Still getting the message occasionally, will see what the next dealer says when I go in for the water pump recall. This ones not looking good either as I've been waiting for over a month for them to get a water pump ordered. Not for a pump to come in, just to ORDER one.

MJWenrich It's just the "sloppiness" that bothers me the most! Attention to detail not there. Having the service advisor tell you that it was your problem, pay up.... quite irritating! Glad you're back at 100%

Well, the dealer refused to accept any fault or responsibility. I think the dealer's behavior is a legacy of the MOPAR people; I call the 800# and explain the situation, they read the two lines in the recall and said they will call me back after contacting the dealer. I waited for that call for one week, until I decided to call them back. Then, they said the dealer "said" they followed the procedure --we have to believe them I guess-- but did not stop there; they went on to say that the culprit was the worn out tires that we decided not to have changed with them. --we changed them somewhere else--. So, on top of all the trouble this mediocre companies cause on people, they will laugh at you. I find it insulting and ludicrous to here from them that this days ABS systems fail because the tire's thread is low. Come on!!!

Please excuse my long postings! This is frustrating!! Man! I am use to drive using the cruise contol.

Now, moving to finding a solution to this MOPAR manufactured nightmare!

- Should I try disconnecting the battery long enough to clear the codes on the Electronic control unit?

- Who else has the equipment to initialize the ABS system? Are only dealers able to perform this kind of procedures on this recent trucks?

I really thank you guys for the help you have provided so far and the advice you will provide until I manage to resolve this bad situation in which this "gangsters" got me in.
