looking for pros & cons for the different boxes.

im curious why the ATS commander is double the price of the ones from BD, suncoast, DTT etc.

anyone with firsthand experience have +/- ?

i am intrigued by the towpro from BD, price seems good, lots of features (i especially like the exhaust brake engage setting to warm the engine).

looks like it can also adjust shift points (i dont think any of the others i listed do this?, just TC lockup?) and its userprogrammable.

As long as you use an exhaust brake which is controlled by the ecm, it is already programmed to use the e-brake to warm up the engine (on an '06) so you probably do not need that feature on any trans controller you choose.

Correct. In fact the ECM is very good at controlling lockup as well. As soon as you hit 30 or so the trans locks in 3rd. It will keep the brake on until 22mph, then you have to take over with your foot.

If you manually downshift into second, the converter will lock if the brake switch is set to "on. "

Adding an exhaust brake really changes the whole personality of the truck.
