A friend of mine had a 2001 dodge diesel. His electric fuel pump failed three times under warranty, causing all kinds of fuel related problems. I bought a wrecked 2001 dodge quad cab with no warranty. I want to know if this is a common problem and if so what can I do to prevent it. I have heard of a fuel pump that can be added next to the fuel tank that pushes the fuel instead of the electric pump it now has by the motor.

thank you- Mike

Mike,

Welcome to the TDR. Yes, these lift pumps fail alot and there are some alternatives such as a PE4100 or a carter pusher. So a search for "lift pump" and you should be able to find enough reading material to last a few days... Have fun... :)
