Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Eletrical Issue

Hello All,



I need a lil help with my 96 CTD. My tailights, and dashlights, are blowing fuses as fast as I put a fuse in. Seems like I read a post on here a while back the someone was whaving the same problem and it was the headlight switch that was bad. Does anyone want to chime in and help me with this? It will help a lot, cause I hate to look for a eletrical short, they are a pain to find and takes a lot of time. This just started this week, so I kinda belive that it could be the headlight switch. (HOPE) lol Any help will be greatly appericated.

It sounds like the headlight switch, though I have never experienced that failure first hand. It was a recall item at one time; it would probably be worth your time to browse through the TSB's and find it. Maybe yours was never fixed. Keep us updated, maybe I can be of more help.

pretty common, i picked one up at advance for around $15 bucks. no way i was paying $40+. simple install and for the price, a good place to start.
