a lot of 12v have the grid heater integral to the plenum plate...



like mine



hint: remove the plenum plate if you want to gut the heaters so you don't lose a lock washer down the #3 intake port!! :{:{:{



I got it fished out after removing the plate :rolleyes:



might be missing a flat washer, but fished like crazy and rolled the engine over 360* w/ no binding, all intake valves have correct lash.



pray for me and don't do what I did! LOL
 
Ok, here are some pics of under my hood, the pro flo intake and billet spacer look pretty cool, I used to have the Banks High Ram, but I think the GDP intake is nicer and cheaper. The install was pretty easy too, they give you new gaskets with the spacer, it took me around an hour and I was taking my time to get it done.

I eliminated the grid heater tonightOo.





Its pretty tough when the intake is one piece and its on the engine,

only dropped one wrench down there:-laf

I can't see the point in removing them. Air restriction is minimal and it starts with one crank of the engine, summer and winter. Why stress the batteries and starter?
