saw an 03 the other day in a parking lot, it sounded pretty good, looked underneaths and what do know, no muffler. looked like it had a pipe something like what genos has that replaced it. has anybody done this to theirs. he claimed more seat of the pants power and better fuel economy without excess noise in the cab. i know most you like it loud , but when your towing all day it can drone your head after a while. next, is it legal. can you get in inspected like this?i liked the sound of it from the outside, as long as it does not make it into the cab while driving. what the best way to go.

I drove on a couple of weeks ago that had the straight pipe and, to my surprise, it was not real noisy in the cab. It sounded like a Peterbilt when it left my yard. Not for me, but it was pretty impressive. I could imagine that some of the law-enforcement folks would write you up especially if your neighbors don't appreciate the noise.

I had the elimination pipe, and the drone was unbearable, IMO.

I thought it sounded alright, but couldn't deal with the drone.

dont put in a straight through muffler BACKWARDS

its downright mean to yer head!!!!!!

I would think it would be the same as straight pipe:--)

i've got this on mine, it is loud on the outside, however some of the drone and noise will make there way into the cab and certain rpm levels... . i will probably eventually go w/ a straight through muffler in the future...
