Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) KDP question?

I got my truck all back together and was unhappy with the turbolag wi8th the new 16cm turbo housing. I decided to slide my #10 torque plate full forward, and now the truck wont start. The throttle feels very heavy at first like it is bound up, but then it pops and mones freely. I took the AFC housing back off and everything seems ok, but it is almost as if the arm that comes forward when stepping on the peddle is hitting the arm that drops out of the AFC housing. Why would the adjustment on the #10 plate affect this? Maybe I mis understood and the #10 plate should not be slid forward for more power?? HELP please, I must have my truck running for the morning. Thanks

Check that the fuel shut off is pulling up. Turn on the ignition and lift up on the linkage, it should come up and stay there.

Yes that is kind of what I found out. The fuel shut off will not come up on its own when I turn the key on, but if I push up on it, it stays there. Then when I turn the key off it closes and the truck shuts off. What the heck?

Check the area were the rubber boot is it may be a little dry rotted and sometimes when remving the afc it can get a little binded up in side the boot.

I did exactly that and I also did a search here on "no start" and found a few posts recommending to lube up the rod. I fixed the boot a little bit and sprayed the rod down with WD40 and all works fine now. Thanks for the help! CHAD
