Kewl stuff

I need some help with my Chevy truck. The problem I have is that when I am turning and start to turn back, the whole truck shuts down- no engine, brakes or nothing (some brakes) only happens on some turns. The steering column is loose and so is the tilt. Can someone help me figure what is wrong and how to fix it? The gear shifter will move back and forth- the whole steering column is movable. I know, I know I will get my Dodge truck but I have to wait until the 2002 trucks come out. Any heelp would be appriciated.

You have to repair the steering column, not a hard job but not an easy one either. The Ignition switch is actualy down the column a little ways and it operated by a rod. When the column is all jacked up it flops around enough to turn the switch off. My old bosses truck was that way, kinda catches you off gaurd sometimes doesn't it?
